Currently, there is a significant lack of young talents in science/technical degree programs due to insufficient interest in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) subjects. Companies tried to give insight into technical professions and creating training programs, but mostly addressed to highschoolers. But is that enough? Learning from human developmental psychology that interests develop at pre-school age, GlobalFoundries Young Education Team created the Kindergarten and Primary School Kids Project. This session demonstrates how the team introduces semiconductor topics in an age-appropriate way perceptible to all senses to children from 6 to 10 years. It also shows that by introducing scientific topics in a playful way, connecting their experiences with positive emotions, will make children remember the learning with joy and interest. Afterall, the hope is that the project improves the chances of kids developing interests in science and technology, furthermore, taking up STEM professions later on. Let’s make it happen!
