Arul Thangavelu is Senior Director and Scientist of the Engineering Division at Hughes Network Systems LLC (HUGHES) where he is responsible for managing and leading the RF and Microwave MMIC team in the development of Ka and Q-Band transmit and receive MMIC’s for the satellite radio terminals.
Mr. Thangavelu’s career at Hughes began in 1997 as a hardware designer for the wireless network infrastructure product lines. He was the lead RF and Microwave designer for a number of radio products, in both the satellite gateway and terminal systems as well as the point to multipoint radios. He has been involved in the design of mobile satellite communications RF hardware for over 20 years.
Mr. Thangavelu received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Communication from Bharathiar University, India and a Master of Science degree in Electrophysics from Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA. Mr. Thangavelu is a member of the IEEE.
